Good morning all,
Please pray that the Lord will strengthen and encourage the kids with more quality time together and with Him. They are reading The Shack while driving, may it be a blessing. They were exhausted last night, but still in good spirits. This morning, they sounded like they were dreading getting back into the truck.
Also pray that Aaron and Emily will stop somewhere for dinner to get a long break from driving. Aaron's eyes have been burning in the evenings and it makes it hard for him to focus on the road.
Thanks for your prayer support!
Hi,
Emily called around 8:30 pm, I wasn't home from Cubbies yet, but John gave me this message.
Emily and Aaron plan to push on to Ft. Wayne tonight and should reach it by midnight. Please continue to pray for:
their safety (their cell phone has died and they don't have their charger with them),
that they will be alert while driving, and
that they will be able to find a hotel quickly that late at night.
As always, thanks for your prayers!
THEY MADE IT!
Emily and Aaron drove into Ft. Wayne, Indiana last night at 12:30 am. They passed 2 hotels near the interstate, but they looked run down, so the kids figured they would try the next one they came to. An hour and 4 other hotels later, they finally found an inn that was not full or too expensive (no, it wasn't a stable either). They were checked into the Quality Inn around 1:30 am.
The reason for going on to Ft. Wayne last night:
Their goal was to reach Davenport, Iowa, last evening and to turn in earlier than Mon. & Tues. However, they made good time and were in Davenport by 3:50 pm. They figured that was too early to stop for the day. At 7:00 pm the kids were an hour away from Chicago. Aaron said if they stopped there they could get into rush hour traffic in the morning. Thus, they pushed on. Emily said they didn't start really feeling tired until an hour outside of Ft. Wayne and she and Aaron just talked to keep each other alert. Thanks for your prayers for their safety!
Aaron and Emily are meeting Bob at I-Hop for breakfast around 10:00, then will go on to the storage unit to unload the truck. Next, they will go to the furnished apartment to unload their personal belongings that they need day to day.
Praise the Lord for His faithfulness!
Please pray that all goes well and everyone stays safe and healthy during the unloading process today.
Thank you again.
ps Does anyone know how Bryan's surgery went Tuesday? Please continue to pray for his recovery. Thanks.
